About Chula Vista

Although the city of Chula Vista will celebrate its 100th birthday in 2011 it is full of energy and excitement.  There are many family events that happen year round including the lemon festival, the starlight parade, and of course the Chula Vista Rose festival.  If there is not an event going on you can take your family to one of the great places to visit in Chula Vista, like the Chula Vista Nature Center, J Street Harbor, the Third Avenue Village and the water park Knott’s Soak City.  If you need a quick vacation or get away you are only 7 miles from San Diego and Mexico.

Because this magnificent city is nestled between San Diego Bay and the coastal mountains it was named Chula Vista, meaning beautiful view.  Not only are you surrounded by great views in Chula Vista but you are engulfed by great weather.  The average temperature in July is a moderate 73 degrees and there is an average of 261 sunny days that can be enjoyed throughout the year.

Chula Vista has family friendly neighborhoods, great schools, shopping, activities, and is a wonderful city to enjoy life.
